From Stornoway
Head out of Stornoway on the A857 towards Barvas, then follow the road northwards still on the A857 passing through the villages of Dell, Thabost and Lionel until you arrive at Port of Ness. Taigh Eilidh is the fourth last house on the left in the village situated directly above the harbour.
By Car
Drive through the Isle of Skye and take the Ferry from Uig to Tarbert in Harris (1 hour 45 minutes crossing time). Follow the A859 to Stornoway, turn left at the roundabout and follow A857 as above. The house is approximately 1 hour 20 mins from Tarbert. Alternatively drive via Inverness to Ullapool and take the Ferry directly to Stornoway (2 hours 45 mins crossing time) and follow directions as above. The driving time from Stornoway to Port of Ness is approximately 35 minutes.
By Rail
For Isle of Skye the Train services terminates at Kyle of Lochalsh and for Ullapool the nearest train station is Inverness. Bus services link the train and ferry terminals.
By Air
Fly into Stornoway Airport from Inverness and Glasgow.
NB: Bus links in the western isles are generally very good and they link up with the ferry timetables.
